Bird Watching
With over 1250 species of birds, India is a haven for bird watching. There are almost over 925 breeding species of which around 900 are natives of the country. Witnessing these tiny creatures in the midst of nature allows one to feel the importance of freedom. Watching them from afar, one is inspired to spread wings and reach out to the sky. Capturing birds in the camera is the most liberating sensation. Hence, for bird watching, 13 bio-geographical regions have be demarcated in India and include, Trans Himalayan, Western Himalayas, Eastern Himalayas, Desert, Semi-arid, Gangetic plain, Central India, Deccan Plateau, Western Ghats, Eastern Ghats, North East, Coasts and the Andaman Nicobar Islands. India’s long coastline and the island regions give bird watchers a favorable chance to spot and study numerous them. Though natural habitats have been taken over by concrete jungles; there are still some reserved national parks and sanctuaries, which welcome the high spirited birds as their abode.
